Extended Weekend

So it wasn't really an extended weekend, but we had some family here from Thursday through Tuesday so it seemed like it. Dad, Mom, Steph, Chrissy, Ash, Jer, Aubs and Sean thanks for the fun! We had a blast having visitors. I think Joseph was a little confused Tuesday after his nap when he woke up and it was just me and him again.

Yummy coconut cake.

Are they not adorable?

Reading with Sarah

So excited to be reading with Aunt Ashley

Joseph and Steph

The babies with Jerry

Playing Dumbo the Elephant together

Giving kisses (I love when he does that without us telling him to)

Uncle James sure loves these kiddos, and I love that they have almost the exact facial expressions.

Grandpa teaching Joseph how to dance, after all, he did teach disco!

Delish!

So my birthday was last week and I discovered a new recipe that I love. These lemon cakes were light and delicious. I am definitely going to make them again. I don't think Zach really wanted to let me make my own birthday treat, but I convinced him that that's what I wanted, so he caved. Oh, and I just used strawberries, because that's what we had, and they are in season right now so they are cheaper.

Conference Weekend and Other Fun

Joseph loves to feed himself. In fact, the last few weeks he wouldn't eat anything unless he could eat it by himself. Luckily, he started letting me spoon feed him again, but I have to be a little persuasive. Here he is in his booster seat, he loves it. I think it makes him feel like a big boy.

Bath time!

Joe really likes to be with me wherever I am. If I'm doing dishes, he likes to play on the floor in the kitchen, if I'm making our bed, he likes to be in our room, if I'm on the computer, he likes to play under/around the desk and if I'm in the bathroom for any reason, yep, he likes to be in the bathroom with me. That really wouldn't bother me much except that his favorite thing in the bathroom is the toilet, and that is just plain gross. So I recently discovered while in the bathroom I can just plop him in the sink and he is happy to play/look in the mirror, for long enough that I can dry my hair, pluck my eyebrows, or just go to the bathroom! I realize that this solution is temporary, because he will soon learn how to turn on the faucet, or crawl out, but for now it's working great!

We were lucky enough to have visitors conference weekend. Papa Taylor, Aubs and Sean came and stayed with us. Joseph had a blast playing with Papa, and I think he could have watched Aubs and Sean all day! Conference was wonderful, and as always, left me feeling uplifted, grateful and motivated to improve.

Future Artist?

I didn't think it was possible to write on one's skin with a colored pencil.

Apparently I was wrong.

My Best April Fools Day was...

Three years ago, Zach asked me to marry him. I take that back, pretty sure he said, "will you wear this for me?", while trying to put the ring on my finger. On April Fools day, pretty romantic, no? Now, three years later we have our sweet boy. Man, the time is flyin' by!

"I love my cousin!"

We love Babica!

Joesph and Sarah adore each other, it sure was fun to hang out with family over Spring Break. Now we are getting ready to move! We packed our first box this week. Anyone have any moving tips?
