Daddy's Little Helper

I wish I had pulled out the camera sooner. Joe was laying on the floor like is dad, helping him fix the kitchen sink. While organizing our basement Zach came across a new faucet and decided to install it. What he thought would be a 20 minute fix turned into a four hour project, including two trips to the hardware store. But Joe sure had a blast helping him!
Chessin' it up for the camera

He really likes daddy's tools

Helping daddy

Being a little trouble maker!

What a cutie!

Snow!

Our first snow in Omaha! I guess that's not entirely true, because we had a little snow in October, but it was a fluke. After enjoying a long fall it got so cold last week and it finally snowed last night.
Outside our front window

Out our back door. I wish I could take Joe outside to play, but the poor kiddo threw up yesterday and I don't think he's quite up for it. Zach did let him touch some last night and he ate it. At this moment he is standing at the back door saying, "more."

My Little Helper

Joseph likes to help me do the laundry now

He climbed in all by himself. He is becoming quite the climber, and can climb onto our bed, our kitchen chairs (which are tall because we have a countertop height table), and pretty much anything else he sets his mind to climbing. You can see a lovely bruise on his forehead from his latest tumble. It seems like he doesn't go long without some sort of scrape or bruise!

Halloween

I'm a little slow getting our Halloween pics up (some of which I borrowed, thanks Nikki). I think Joe had a lot of fun.

Thursday Joe got to trick or treat at Daddy's school. Whenever he got to pick a candy out of an assortment he picked a sucker.

The Jack-o-lanterns, Zach's is on the right (I was impressed at his creativity)

Bathtime

I really think every age up to this point has been a lot of fun. Each for different reasons, but let me tell you, Joe is a blast right now. Even on his grumpy/tantrum days (which lucky for us are few) he always has me laughing or smiling at some point in the day. How can you not be happy with this kid around?
Showing off his cute, crooked smile.

Joe has always liked taking a bath, but the other night he was loving it!

I am so lucky to be this kids mom.

Grandparents!

We were fortunate to have my parents come visit us a couple weeks ago. They used to live the same place we live now, and my dad also attended Creighton for Dental school. It was fun to show them around and see how things had changed, or not changed. Mostly though, it was fun to just spend time with them. Joseph loved hanging out with them and had very little interest in me or Zach while they were here.

Watching the penguins in a little viewing bubble (I'm not sure how else to describe it)

Watching the sea lions

So happy to be at the petting zoo with Dad

At the cemetery behind the winter quarters temple.

Joseph loved the snow. I don't think he really remembers it from last year. The snow was a little of a surprise, we didn't have gloves or boots for him. He trudged through the snow anyway and picked it up with his bare hands.

Giving Grandpa kisses

SO happy to be with Grandpa!

Thanks Mom and Dad for everything! We had so much fun while you were here!

Fall Fun

Zach's fall break started on Tuesday, so we decided to go do something fun. We went to Vala's, a nearby pumpkin patch. It was so cold, but a lot of fun. We didn't even get the stroller out of the car. Joe just led the way, and he loved it.

Feeding the goats

It takes a lot of concentration. Which usually requires him to stick out his bottom jaw.

At the storybook barn in Cinderella's pumpkin

Bo Peep was a big hit. Joe did try to steal her stick.

Joe loves the slide

And he loved driving the tractor

You can see his cute crooked smile in this pic pretty well. He is finally getting his other central, and lateral incisor. Poor kid has had a crazy runny nose and has been drooling everywhere!

Showing us where he wants to go next

We are excited for more fall fun when Babica and Grandpa Tidwell come to visit this weekend!

My Little Muscle Man

Zach is doing P90X and Joe loves working out with Daddy.

Assuming his favorite position while Zach is doing push ups.

"C'mon Daddy, these are a breeze!"

Love the pull-up bar

"Don't worry about me mom, I'm just going to pump some iron."

Doesn't working out make you feel great! Look at that smile!

*Unfortunately, my boys aren't feeling so tough right now. I got them both sick! I'm hoping Zach is feeling much better tomorrow, because he has four tests this week, and two are tomorrow! Yikes!

Losing brain cells...

This morning I put the aluminum foil away.

This afternoon I fed Joe. Then I put the cheese away, right next to the aluminum foil, in the fridge.

JELLO

What I was thinking when I gave Joe Jello (regular, not jigglers) to eat one day:
  • He will love it
  • It will keep him entertained so I can finish dinner

What I was not thinking when I gave Joe Jello one day:
  • It will melt in his fingers before it even gets to his mouth (it also melted on his shorts, I don't know if you can tell from the picture)
  • It will stain everything red
  • Big mess, mandatory bath (if click on the pictures you can see the mess much better :))

I was right though. I did finish making dinner uninterrupted. And if you can't tell from the picture, Joe loved it!

We Love the Zoo

Well we have enjoyed Zach's break from school. His first day of his second year of dental school is tomorrow! We took the chance to go to the zoo again as a family. I'm pretty sure Joe really enjoys it, but I sometimes feel slightly guilty because I think I might like it even more than he does.

Joseph was too distracted by some little kids to look at the camera

Butterfly

more butterfly

Hippo

Rhinos are HUGE animals

Some ginormous fish

I can't remember the name of these crazy lookin' animals

Some monkey, just chillin'

Me and Joe in the butterfly house. I think that was his favorite thing this time.
