My Baby

Joe woke up from his nap today rather groggy. I don't think his nap was quite long enough. He was cranky, even when I asked him if he wanted a popsicle he whined "no" (I know, it's the middle of winter, but this kid loves popsicles, and asks for them all the time, even when we have just been out in the cold). So, I asked him if he wanted to rock with me, and he did. I scooped him up, he wrapped his arms around me, and we cuddled in the rocking chair. As I felt how small he was in my arms I was happy; happy that, although he is growing like crazy, and looks and acts more like a kid every day, he is still my baby.

One Year Older and Wiser, too?

More like more absentminded than ever, but since it seems to be a byproduct of my two boys, I would say it's well worth it.

So it was my bday recently. I went to the zoo with Joe and Will and some of my friends. To my surprise, when I got home I smelled chocolate cake. My sweet hubby came home earlier than I expected and had made German Chocolate cake for me, complete with topping he made from scratch!
Yes, it looks scrumptious, and I assure you, it tasted even better!

We had a pretty chill rest of the day. Joe had a blast helping me open gifts.

Growing!

Joseph is growing up fast! Here is a pic of him when he was four months old

And now at 7 1/2 months old

Joseph is crawling! Okay, not exactly. He crawls backwards when he tries to sit up from being on his tummy, and I'm pretty sure he isn't doing it on purpose. Anyway, yesterday he was playing on the floor and I look over and he was sitting inside the basket I keep his toys in! He had dumped the basket on its side, then backed himself into it and pushed it back upright with him sitting in it. It was pretty funny.
So a couple of weeks ago Zach taught Joseph how to give kisses. Usually we have to ask him for one, "Joseph, give Mama a kiss," but I was holding him the other day and with no encouragement he kissed me! He is such a sweet baby, we are so lucky to have him in our family
