Baby Will Turns One

Newborn

About One Month

2 months

six months

8 months

11 months

Baby William,
It's been so fun to see you grow and develop, this first year of your life. You have been discovering the world around you, and we have been discovering who you are. You bring so much joy to our family. You are quick to smile and your laughter is infectious. It's not very hard to get you started because you are so ticklish. I don't know who tries to make you laugh more, me, your dad or Joe. You brighten the day of anyone who is around you.

You are a social baby. Playing with other babies or toddlers is one of your favorite things to do. Despite all the pestering from him, you love your brother Joe. You love to watch him play, and you love when he plays with you. You try to keep up with him using your army crawl. Sometimes you tease us and crawl for a very short distance, but you are so efficient with your scoot I wouldn't be surprise if you stick with it until you start walking.

You are a mama's boy, which I love. You love to cuddle up to me, and love to be held. You don't like when anyone leaves the room you are in, especially not when I do. Often you bonk heads with me or your dad when you are feeling affectionate.

You have always been a very content baby. Only recently have you started to really let us know when you want something a certain way. This happens a lot at dinner lately with you squawking and throwing your head back. You don't seem to have much interest in using words to express your desires, at least, not yet. That's okay, I don't want you to grow up too fast anyway!

I am excited to see what you will learn and how you will grow this coming year. I love you.

Love Always,
Mom

It's Party Time

Darling baby Will has turned one. Can you believe it?

This picture makes it look like he wasn't so sure about the cake/candle, but two seconds later he was reaching for it.

And he knew exactly what to do with it.

Josh and Dana

Beckham and Nikki

Joe and Spencer

The kiddos, jammin' and groovin'. Pretty cute.

I think Will had a great day. Unfortunately it ended with a minor puke-fest. I think the combo of a little too much cake and the beginnings of a snotty cold were to blame.

And for your viewing pleasure...

10 months

This darling baby is growing up so fast.

He is such a content baby. He just started showing interest in pulling himself up, which he can only do half-way. Although he has the ability to crawl the normal way, he prefers to do his army crawl with which he has become very efficient. He loves watching his brother, and laughing at the silly things Joe does. His laugh is one of the best sounds in the world. Bath-time is his favorite, he goes to town splashing and playing. He loves munching on animal crackers and drinking water out of a straw cup. He usually squawks to indicate when he needs or wants something. He doesn't like when I leave the room, or exercise with him in the room. The blender terrifies him, so we never use it when he is even close. He loves to explore his surroundings. He is one happy baby, and shows it with his sweet smile.

I love my little Will.

Matchy-Matchy

I got the boys dressed the other day and realized they were sort of coordinating, and had to take a couple pictures. Plus, I haven't taken pictures of the two of them in a little while. So here are the little stinkers.

Check out that little chunker's wrists. I love it.

Also, Will cut his first tooth a little over a week ago. Joe tried to help me get a picture of it.

I don't think Will appreciated his help.

Birthday Boy

We have officially entered the "terrible two's". I think for the most part this stage is going to be so fun, busy, but fun.
Joe actually had a little bit of a cold on his birthday, so we had a relaxing day with a walk to the gardens in the morning, a long nap, and watching Thomas.

That evening though, we did have cake and ice cream with friends. I know Joe wasn't feeling his best, but I'm pretty sure he had a great day (as evidenced by the first picture).

Time is flyin'

Oh my! Are we already half-way through June? We've been a little busy potty training Joe. He's actually doing pretty well, but it's time consuming. And right now it's not exactly convenient, but I think I will be glad we did it when it's all over.
Here's the little man himself in his train shirt he got for going poop in the potty the first time. And he helped himself to both the olives and the can opener and was trying to open them.

And I can't believe Will is already over 4 months old. Where is the time going? He is such a good baby. I don't get the camera out as much as a should because Joe just want to play with it. That's the explanation for the quality of the last one. :)

White Coat

Last Saturday Zach had White Coat. It's sort of a graduation into clinic. So he's seeing patients now, which is pretty awesome. Way to go Zach for making it two years through dental school. Halfway there. I realized as we were walking in and there were no children that it was a mistake to bring both of mine. I did bring my camera, but Joe used it to take more self portraits so it wasn't available for me to take any other photos. So thanks Andrea and Nikki for letting me steal yours.

Birthday Boy!

I can't believe one year ago, he was this little bundle of joy:

Now our little baby is turning into a kid!

Making a mess with his cake. He really did not know what to do with it at first. After a few minutes of him poking at it with his fingers we gave him a spoon and he finally did some damage.

Getting that plate nice and clean.

Things Joseph is loving now that he is one:

Dancing
Feeding himself with a spoon, somewhat successfully
Using is new two bottom teeth to bite
Playing outside
Trying to keep up with the big kids
Climbing on whatever he can
Babbling nonsense
Taking steps by himself (although I guess if he liked this he would have done it more than once)

He sure is a lot of fun and growing up way too fast!

On the Move

So I know I just posted saying the Joseph was almost crawling--but now he really is. Sunday evening I was in a meeting at the church letting Joseph play on the floor. Well, he spotted the trash can and it was enough motivation to get those hands and knees moving! His favorite things to crawl and get into at home are mommies plants. He is a pretty mild tempered baby, but I think we might have a little trouble-maker on our hands!
