Growing!

Joseph is growing up fast! Here is a pic of him when he was four months old

And now at 7 1/2 months old

Joseph is crawling! Okay, not exactly. He crawls backwards when he tries to sit up from being on his tummy, and I'm pretty sure he isn't doing it on purpose. Anyway, yesterday he was playing on the floor and I look over and he was sitting inside the basket I keep his toys in! He had dumped the basket on its side, then backed himself into it and pushed it back upright with him sitting in it. It was pretty funny.
So a couple of weeks ago Zach taught Joseph how to give kisses. Usually we have to ask him for one, "Joseph, give Mama a kiss," but I was holding him the other day and with no encouragement he kissed me! He is such a sweet baby, we are so lucky to have him in our family

Joseph Lately

My little angel will be seven months old tomorrow! I can't believe how quickly the time is flying by. Here are some of the things he has been up to lately.

We got this excer-saucer from a friend and it was missing the screw that holds one of the toys in place. So, Joseph thinks the point of the toy is not to push the buttons to hear music, but to push it off.
He is getting closer to crawling. He goes from a sitting position to this (above) and then sits himself back up again. If he's gone too far, he falls on his belly and scoots backward or rotates.

He loves playing with daddy when he gets home from school!

Anytime I set him next to the bookcase he pulls everything he can off of it.

I don't know why, but he'll sometimes attack our faces. He especially likes to bite your nose (luckily he doesn't have teeth yet.)

Pulling himself up to a standing position and standing by himself! This little boy brings me so much joy. I love it!

Breakfast for Dinner

Who doesn't love breakfast for dinner, honestly? I love it. It's super tasty plus, we always have ingredients to make yummy breakfast. Tonight after enjoying our hashbrowns (that I made from our potatoes that grew eyes while we were on our break) we had this little conversation:

Zach: "Guess what I learned today"
Me: "What?"
Zach: "You shouldn't eat potatoes that have grown eyes"
Me: "err...Why is that?"
Zach: "They are full of toxins"

Oops.

So folks, even when trying to be frugal and not wasteful, you better not eat those potatoes with growing eyes.

Christmas Festivities!

Joseph opening his first Christmas stocking. We had and awesome Christmas break. We had a blast spending time at Jerry and Ashley, Mom and Dad Tidwell and Mom and Dad Taylor's homes. Thanks so much family! We love you. I have to admit though, it feels good to be home!

Grandpa was worried about Joseph's feet getting cold, so he used some of Babica's (pronounced bobeetza, that's Grandma Tidwell's name) to keep them warm.

Sarah, enjoying mashed potatoes from our Chrismas Eve dinner.

Stephanie, some neighbors, and I made this awesome gingerbread house made of a Necco roof, Andes steps, Rips shutters, Apple O wreaths and Christmas tree, Mike and Ike siding, mini m&m path, frosting and gingerbread held together with burnt sugar.

Friends

Last night we got to party with our friends from the IDEP program and then we went to the Ugly Sweater Party with our friends from our time at BYU-Idaho. Zach and I are so lucky to have such wonderful friends. I feel like every phase of our lives we have been blessed with great friends; now, while we lived in Provo and worked at Wilsons, at BYU-Idaho, in highschool and even before that. Anyway, last night we had fun reminiscing about "old" times with good friends. And we're excited that we are making even more fun memories :)

So I made sure we did not forget the camera when we went to Provo for Thanksgiving. Did we use it? Nope. I promise I won't forget to take pictures at Christmas. Thanksgiving break was a blast. We got to hang out with both of our families. Jerry and Ashley hosted Thanksgiving dinner at their new house. While we were away from home Joseph learned to sit without any help, and he had solids for the first time! He loved it. Auntie Steph took some pics of that, so maybe I can steal them from her.
